New website for road safety is launched

The Local Authority Road Safety Officers’ Association has today (April 23rd) re-launched its highly successful and award-winning website packed with news, views and information on the latest road safety issues.

The re-launch comes in this, the first global road safety week organised by the United Nations and the World Health Organisation. Friday (April 27th) is also the very first European Road Safety Day dedicated to young drivers.

LARSOA believes the new look website at www.larsoa.org.uk will continue to make a valuable contribution to road safety and it’s the place to visit if you want to keep up with the latest campaigns, news and road safety best practice in the UK.

As a national organisation, LARSOA represents local authority road safety teams across the UK and the website is a one stop shop where professional road safety officers meet to exchange news and discuss the campaigns which work best to improve road safety for all users across the UK.

It’s an ideal source for up-to-date news on road safety from all over the UK as well as a central source of resources, ideas and information. Contact details for both LARSOA officers and road safety officers are on the website so anyone who needs advice on any road safety issue can get in touch with either someone in their local area or a specialist who can offer help.

David Frost, a spokesman for LARSOA, says: “The new look website adds a new dimension to road safety and is easy to navigate with a wealth of information, help and advice which is easily accessible to all and we hope people both nationally and internationally will benefit from the exchange of ideas on it.

“We hope people will find it useful whether they are professional road safety officers looking for information or inspiring ideas or the general public who want to know how to be a safer road user themselves.”

The website also carries information on training, job vacancies and resources that are helpful when teaching road safety to different target groups.
