Barking the message across

Schools across Leicestershire have been learning a few road safety tips - from a talking dog.

Performances of 'Dogworthy's Magic Roadshow' have been enjoyed by classes from 17 Leicestershire primary schools. The show teaches the vital lesson of 'Stop, Look and Listen'.

The star of the show is a puppet called Dogworthy, who learns his lesson the hard way when he gets run over by an ice cream van after he runs across the road without looking.

Year 2 pupil Hannah, who helped Dogworthy teach the children how to listen for traffic by holding up a giant pair of ears, said: "My favourite bit was singing the song at the end, which taught us how to cross the road safely."

The performances were organised by Leicestershire's road safety and travel awareness team.
