Devon publishes school bus DVD

Devon's road safety and travel awareness team has produced a new DVD-based educational resource in response to concerns about behaviour on school buses.

Stop the Bus, which is based on a real incident and targets years 7-9, uses white facemasks to ensure people are judged by their words and actions and not by their appearance.

Alison Mcgregor, STP coordinator says: ''Stop The Bus encourages pupils to share ideas and learn from each other. It develops greater awareness of the link between behaviour and consequences and helps pupils understand that some outcomes of their behaviour are better than others."

The DVD can be used as part of PSHE lessons, tutor time or as part of the English or drama curriculum. Copies are available for just £5 each plus VAT and postage.  To purchase a copy, or for further information, contact the Devon road safety helpdesk on 0845 155 1004, or rshelp@devon.gov.uk.
