New multi-lingual resource for under fives

The Neighbourhood Road Safety Initiative (NRSI) has produced a new educational resource in a number of languages for the under fives.

The pack, Salman and Friends, comprises four storybooks - each conveying a road safety message for children to learn and practice when out with their parents or carers. There are useful suggestions and follow up activities at the back of each book to help parents, carers and teachers reinforce each message.

The books are accompanied by an audio CD that also contains eight songs. The CDs are available in English, Urdu, Hindi, Bangla, Punjabi and Gujarati.

The resource has been created by a group of parents and a play development team based in Blackburn, working with NRSI and Blackburn road safety unit.
