Students conceive radio ad

Students in Kingston upon Thames have produced a radio commercial to highlight the perils of using electronic devices when on or near roads.

The students - part of Kingston's newly formed Road Safety and Travel Awareness Student Council - were asked to think how to encourage their peers to be safer on their way to and from school.

After considering several ideas the students settled on a radio advert played at peak times in the morning and afternoon would be the best way to target their audience.

The students then wrote a script that focused on distractions that pedestrians might face on their journey, before meeting with producers at their local radio station to make the advert.
