A creative challenge for students

The For my girlfriend young driver campaign team has issued a creative challenge for students – the chance to help develop the next phase of the campaign.

For my girlfriend (FMG) reminds young people of the potentially terrible consequences of driving too fast. It confronts young male drivers with the appalling prospect of killing their girlfriend – and spells out the dangers that young females can face as passengers.

Campaign resources produced in the past include posters, a Valentine Card, radio and TV commercials and the campaign website www.fmg.org.uk.

“We’re challenging teams of four students to put forward a cracking idea for the next phase of the campaign,” says Jo Lazar, FMG campaign manager. “The idea should focus on the boyfriend/girlfriend relationship by reminding male drivers of the responsibility they have towards their girlfriend passengers, and girls of the danger they can face while travelling with their boyfriend - and be suitable for use around Valentine’s Day."

The prize is £500 for the winning educational establishment and £100 in educational tokens for each winning team member.

The winning idea will become the property of the FMG campaign managers (Stennik) and may be developed to form the next phase of the campaign.

Entries must be submitted by 31 July, and full details can be found on the campaign website.

For further information contact Jo Lazar by email, or on 01379 650112.
