A child’s memory of a stroll to school will remain captured in the lodge office of a local park, following a successful campaign to promote road safety in Bradford.

Children throughout the Bradford district took part in Walk to School Week 2002, but it was four-year old Alistair's picture that caught the eye of the council’s road safety officers.

"Schools sent in their drawings and the one pictured was so lovely we thought it would look nice in the park office," said RSO, Sue Snoddy. "Alistair’s walk to school takes him through Lister Park, which won the Green Flag award this year - so it just seemed really appropriate."

A framed copy of Alistair’s picture was presented by him to John Little, area parks and landscapes manager. Alistair attends Midland Road Nursery School in Bradford.
