Westminster develops road safety ‘brolly’

Westminster’s Road Safety Unit has developed a children's umbrella in fluorescent, reflective material to help promote Walk to School, Walking Bus, Be Safe Be Seen and other road safety campaigns.

"Until now the potential of the umbrella as an outdoor campaign medium has not been fully appreciated," explains Westminster’s road safety manager Charles Mambo. "Oakthrift plc - one of the market leaders in corporate umbrellas - has shown us that vast potential exists to effectively use the brolly as a campaign and publicity tool.

"The brolly can support local and regional campaigns with brand messages and images, can effectively communicate to a target audience and complements other chosen media.

"The portability of this everyday item means it will be seen in situations that other media cannot effectively reach including pedestrian zones, the high street, events, schools and shopping car parks," Charles Mambo adds.

Prices start at £4.05 per brolly for a quantity of 200, reducing to £3.10 for a quantity of 10,000 or more. Prices are inclusive of overprinting in one colour.
