Pedal power
to safety
Shropshire County Council has launched a peripatetic cycle training
team to deliver the councils Cycle Training Awareness Scheme
to schools across the county. The move is part of the county councils
campaign to encourage safer cycling.
"The team will deliver cycle training at schools as part of
the Safer Routes to School initiative," said Colin Pettener,
county road safety officer. "We are very enthusiastic about
this new approach which offers cycle training awareness courses
to young road users.
"We are very grateful to JDM Accord, The Furrows Group, and
Shrewsbury Cycles for their sponsorship and we also appreciate the
financial support given by North, South and the Bridgnorth District
Rural Transport Partnership."
The summer term is already fully booked but there are course places
available during the autumn term.
