Tufty update

In January we carried a story about Robert Smith’s Tufty puppets catching the imagination of BBC-TV's Antiques Roadshow team when it visited Sherborne in Dorset in December 2002. At that time, Robert was hopeful the puppets might feature in the programme on 2 February.

Unfortunately the puppets didn’t make it to the show on that date, but the programme has written to Robert telling him that the piece is being held back until later in the year.

Robert has subsequently decided to put the puppets up for auction in Dorchester on 16 April - with a guide price of £400 - £600. Proceeds of the sale will go towards road safety education.
