Musical Play
gets rave review
Go-Stop The Musical Play which comprises a video
and CD-ROM is now complete and available for purchase and
is meeting with very encouraging feedback from children and teachers.
The Go-Stop Musical has been produced as an aid to road safety for
children, while the video has been designed to act as a guide for
teachers and children who would like to produce their own version
of the play.
Included
in the pack is a CD-ROM containing a script, backing music for the
songs, sheet music of the songs and a Go-Stop game. A Go-Stop book
is also included.
The resource has received a ringing endorsement from Delphine
Norton from the Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership. "I
have shown the video to two Y2 classes and their teachers who said
it was great - the children stopped me in the corridor to tell me
all about it and how they had enjoyed watching it.
"I have also shown it to a Y3 class and sat in the classroom
while they watched it," Delphine added. "There was not
a word spoken by the children during the playing time and afterwards
I asked them what they thought of it. They described it as 'wicked',
'brilliant' and 'interesting - 'a good way to learn about
road safety'. The teacher also said it was a very good video and
that it taught road safety in an easy to understand way for the
age group.
"Personally I think its wonderful and I am going to put
one in each of the resource boxes that I leave with classes while
I do their pedestrian training course," Delphine concluded.
