FTA finances
drink, drugs and driving roadshow
Telford Training Consultants (TTC 2000) - the UKs largest
provider of drink drive education courses - is taking its drink,
drugs and driving message nationwide as part of a Freight Transport
Association (FTA) initiative aimed at keeping road transport
managers informed on issues that affect the UK transport industry.
TTC director Graham Wynn delivered the first of 11
training sessions at East Grinstead the start of a whistlestop
UK tour that will take in Warrington, Cambridge, Birmingham, Cardiff,
Grangemouth, Leeds, Weston Super Mare, Nottingham and Heathrow,
ending in Durham in December.
"Every employer should implement a drugs and alcohol policy
to ensure that they fulfil their responsibilities," said Graham
Wynn.
"Alcohol and drugs are foreseeable hazards and must be included
as part of health and safety risk assessment. All staff should be
educated on the dangers of alcohol and drugs in the workplace and
given the appropriate information and advice."
Instructions on how to compile a drugs and alcohol policy are available
to FTA members from the TTC 2000 website at www.ttc-uk.com.
