Cambridgeshire
launches Safer Routes newsletter
Schools across Cambridgeshire will be able to read the latest news
from the County Council's Safer Routes to School project in the
first edition of the newsletter, Way to go!.
The newsletter which will be published twice a year - explains
how the project works and gives up-to-date information on schools
involved, and what Spike, the Road Safety Hedgehog, will be getting
up to.
Recent surveys suggest that the 'school run' accounts for up to
15 per cent of rush hour traffic and most schools in Britain now
face the problem of traffic filled streets at school opening and
closing times.
"We hope people will find the newsletter fun and informative
and that it will give teachers and schools a better idea of the
work we do and how we might be able to help," said Rosemary
Mullen, Safer Routes to School project officer."
