RFL welcomes
Think! sponsorship
The Rugby Football League has welcomed the DfTs Think! Road
Safety sponsorship of the Great Britain team for the next 12 months,
including the Australian tour of Great Britain during October and
November.
"Were
delighted that the DfT will sponsor the forthcoming tour, Test Series
and Great Britain Team via the Think! campaign," said
Chris Green, the Rugby Football Leagues marketing director.
"It doesnt become much bigger in Rugby League terms than
Great Britain playing Australia.
"It
is a source of great satisfaction to Rugby League that besides acquiring
a prestigious sponsorship for this major event in our calendar we
should be helping provide media exposure to a socially important
message. We like to think that we are a family orientated sport
and there is no doubt that road safety is a key issue for all members
of our communities as well as the public at large."
David
Waite, the Great Britain teams head coach and Rugby Football
League performance director, commented: "I know that both the
team management and players are really pleased to be supported by
the Think! campaign. For the series against New Zealand, the
DfT proved valuable supporters and we look forward to working with
them again as we undertake this sporting challenge against Australia."
