Sponsorship
brings good fortune to Bury FC
The Bury Road Safety Unit - via the Think! Road Safety campaign
- recently sponsored the Nationwide Football League third division
match between Bury and Swansea City.
The Club described the sponsorship as a fantastic opportunity
to work together and make a real success of this partnership. Bury
FC wants to continue to be at the forefront of promoting healthy
and responsible living for players and fans alike.
"The road safety theme for the match was Human Error
95 per cent of all traffic-related incidents involve some
form of human error," said Stuart Howarth, Burys
road safety officer.
"Inappropriate speed, drink driving, not using a seat belt,
pedestrians crossing in the wrong place and not making themselves
seen - all continue to be major factors in the number of deaths
and injuries on the UKs roads," Stuart Howarth added.
"Did you know that last year nearly 3,500 people died on our
roads and nearly 36,000 were seriously injured and 95 per
cent of these were down to human error."
