Camera partnership
campaign wins Prince Michael Award
A radio campaign warning motorists in the northeast about the cost
of road crashes picked up a Prince Michael Road Safety Award
last month.
The series of six commercials, entitled in any other form
a hero and funded by the Cleveland Safety Camera Partnership
(CSCP), appeared on local radio over an 18-month period.
"The commercials had a tremendous response and I have no doubt
that they have helped to reduce collisions, which in turn helps
to save lives," said CSCP spokesman Mick Bennett.
"To get national recognition is tremendous and we are very
honoured to get this award.
"The adverts are very simple. They spell out the costs involved
in dealing with motor crashes. In particular the cost to the NHS
of helping victims in crashes, that could have been avoided,"
he added.
