MOD backs
safety camera campaign
The Ministry of Defence is lending its support to the National
Safety Camera Liaison (NSCL) by handing door hangers to non commissioned
officers in the Defence School of Transport (DST) for further distribution
to soldiers currently undergoing training at DST.
"The aim of the NSCL campaign is to make all drivers more aware
of the current speed limits applicable to vehicles and trailers
on UK roads today," said warrant officer JH Ball,
Senior Master Driver (Training).
"Lets face it when was the last time you read the Highway
Code? Master Drivers worldwide are helping the NSCL to get this
very important road safety message across."
Susan Beck, NCSLs communications manager said: "We
are delighted with the support that the MOD is giving to safety
camera partnerships. The door hangers give information about how
to find out where all the safety cameras are in your location.
"It is vital that service personnel get this message in the
interest of both their safety and the safety of other road users.
We look forward to all military bases in the UK carrying out a similar
campaign using these door hangers so that we reach more and more
service personnel."
