DfT unveils 'Perfect day' motorcycle film

The DfT has released a new film as part of its THINK! publicity strategy to tackle the growing number of casualties among riders of high-powered motorcycles.

'Perfect Day' shows a motorcyclist enjoying a ride in the countryside and navigating the various hazards that he might encounter in this environment.

In this case, however, he is forewarned about the hazards by road signs, writing in the dirt on the back of a van, a hitchhiker's placard, etc. These warning signs help him return home unharmed.

The end line of the film reads: 'THINK! You don't get warnings like these in the real world'.

The key message is that riders need to be vigilant when out on the roads and should expect the unexpected.

The film will be used for training purposes by police, road safety officers, and other groups, and at motorcycling events.
