Live and Dangerous
Following the success of a road safety show aimed at the elderly in Wandsworth, the Dangerous Theatre Company has created a new show, Live to be 102.
The company is once again touring the borough's day centres, luncheon and social clubs using comedy, songs, quick-fire gags and cabaret to help the over 60's avoid injury on the roads. The new show deals with passenger safety on buses and the need for regular eyesight testing as well as pedestrian safety.
"The elderly are vulnerable road users and often difficult to get through to," says Wandsworth's RSO Martin Andrews . "But the Dangerous Theatre Company has once again produced a show that has been very well received and we have already been sent many letters of appreciation."
Wandsworth is also sending the Dangerous Theatre Company into primary schools with a children's road safety show aimed at six to eight year olds. After each show, the actors, still in costume, go into classrooms to talk to the children and reinforce road safety messages.
