Lancashire launches First Steps resource
The Lancashire Partnership for Road Safety has launched Bee Safe - First Steps in Road Safety to educate parents and young children to adopt good road safety habits.
The initiative is based on an educational resource pack devised by the Partnership for children aged 3-5 years. The pack contains practical ideas and suggestions showing how to incorporate road safety skills into parent and children sessions.
The Partnership worked with education specialists to devise the First Steps pack. The consultation resulted in a series of suggested road safety activities relevant to each of the foundation stage categories. The pack includes a number of fact sheets along with colouring sheets, songs and rhymes, book lists and a fact file on seatbelts and child restraints.
The packs are available free of charge to organisations based in Lancashire and for a fee of £4.95 to other organisations.
