Hedgehogs site relaunched
The THINK! campaign is to re-launch www.hedgehogs.gov.uk on 30 August to support the popular child road safety campaign in the 'back to school' period.
The hedgehogs website is aimed at 7-10 year olds, and teaches children road skills and how to keep safe while out and about. The hedgehogs are brought to life in the colourful new interactive site. Features include:
- An interactive hog street
- A challenging quiz and fun downloads
- Games in which players are challenged to get all of their hedgehogs to the park safely and make their hedgehogs 'be safe be seen'
- A chance to win prizes, including a new bike.
Online advertising on AOL, Jetix (Fox Kids), Miniclip, CITV, Channel4.com and Nick.co.uk will drive traffic to the new site. The first burst, from 31 August-18 September, will support the website re-launch. The second burst, from 17 October-6 November, will remind children to 'be safe be seen' as the nights draw in.
The hedgehogs TV advertising is running on GMTV, Channel Five and satellite television from the 17 October-6 November. The ads also air in cinemas with a new end frame and voiceover advising children to be careful crossing the road when leaving the cinema. The ads feature in:
- Charlie & the Chocolate Factory - from 29 July
- Because of Winn Dixie - from 5 August
- Herbie: Fully Loaded - from12 August
- Wallace & Gromit - from14 October
