'Washroom' posters target young speeders
The latest phase of the For my girlfriend young driver campaign will break on 12 September in the form of posters displayed in men's washrooms in various parts of the country.
For my girlfriend faces young male drivers with the awful prospect of killing or maiming their girlfriend in a crash caused by them driving too fast.
The latest campaign poster features a picture of a young girl in a crashed car surrounded by members of the emergency services. The headline says, 'If you don't like this many blokes round your girlfriend - slow down'.
The posters will appear in gents' toilets in clubs, pubs and bars across Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Buckinghamshire, Peterborough, Windsor & Maidenhead and the London Borough of Greenwich.
In the past the campaign message has been communicated via postcards and a Valentine card distributed to young people with the support of educational establishments, pubs and clubs.
The campaign received a Prince Michael International Road Safety Award in 2004.
