IWALK unveils
new awards scheme
The International Walk to School Committee (IWALK) has announced
a new International Walk to School Award, which has been
established to recognise outstanding achievement and best practice
in the promotion of Walk to School programs around the globe. The
purpose of the award is to raise awareness of innovative and successful
programs that have the potential for replication.
The new award is open to individuals, schools, local and national
groups and agencies. It is not limited to participants in International
Walk to School Week.
Applications are due no later than January 31, 2004 and the international
jury will announce the finalists on World Health Day, 7 April 2004.
The winner will receive the award at the WALK 21 Conference in Copenhagen,
Denmark, 9-11 June 2004.
