Prince Michael awards announced in London

The 2003 Prince Michael International Road Safety Awards, organised by Roadsafe, were presented recently at a ceremony at the Savoy Hotel in London.

Announcing awards, Prince Michael of Kent said: "One of the biggest changes I have noticed has been the approach you (winners) have taken to sharing experience and working together. When first launched, these awards acknowledged many individual achievements but today the majority acknowledge the work of teams of people - often very large and multi-disciplined teams too.

"We now realise that our casualty reduction targets can only be met if we work in partnership together. I applaud some of the highly innovative partnerships developing and the way in which the road safety community here in Britain is now working more effectively together to share ideas and encourage innovation."
