Early Christmas
present for Scottish competition winner
The winner of the Scottish Road Safety Campaigns (SRSC) 2003
Travel Pack competition is Ross Apted from Duns in the Scottish
Borders.
"Every year the SRSC produces a Travel Pack that is distributed
free of charge," explains Anne Diack, SRSCs
assistant director. "The packs are used for a variety of events,
generally across the summer period.
"It comprises a number of items including an activity book,
story tape and 'arrive alive' pen - things to keep children quiet
when they are travelling in a car or on public transport."
The competition was a spot the faults Monday Madness
postcard. As winner, Ross was invited to choose a bike at a local
shop - thus ensuring it is the correct fit - along with accessories.
Ross is a keen cyclist and was over the moon to discover he had
won the competition. He already has his own helmet so the SRSC presented
him with lights to make sure he can be seen on the dark mornings.
Ross, who is in Primary 7, thought the bike was a great early Christmas
present and funnily enough his twin brother is the junior
road safety officer at Duns Primary School.
