Hounslow conducts positive drink drive campaign

Hounslow Council's road safety team focused on delivering a positive Christmas drink drive message in 2004. 

"We formed a partnership with Holy Trinity Church in Hounslow High Street, who allowed us to use their kitchens, and their hard working chefs mixed a selection of the DfT's non alcoholic cocktails," explains Elisabeth Knight, Hounslow's safety education manager. "We set up a display in the High Street and served cocktails to the public." 

Approximately 600 people joined the road safety team to sample the cocktails, and took away specially printed cocktail recipe cards - and, hopefully, messages about the dangers of drinking and driving and the attractive alternatives to alcoholic drinks.

In a further coup the team provided non-alcoholic cocktails for its director's Christmas party!
