Michelin man promotes cycling course

An iconic Michelin man known as Bibendum is encouraging pupils from primary schools across Stoke-on-Trent to undertake Bike2Basics cycle safety training.

Almost 80 schools have taken part in the course for 7-9 year old pupils, which is funded by the NRSI (Neighbourhood Road Safety Initiative).

In addition to Bibendum, the major local employer Michelin (whose UK headquarters are in Stoke-on-Trent) is also providing high visibility bibs for young cyclists and instructors participating in the training.
