Mitre supports Think! campaign

Sports equipment manufacturer Mitre is supporting the Think! road safety campaign. The Cheshire-based company has donated a quantity of reflective footballs to be used as prizes for a series of road safety competitions targeted at teenage pedestrians. The first competition ran recently in Match magazine (see pic).

"The Mitre footballs help us to get our road safety messages into magazines read by teenagers - who are traditionally difficult to reach through other channels," explains assistant publicity manager Britta Priebe. "The reflective balls also reinforce the ‘Be safe, be seen’ message to teenagers, who should be visible when they are out and about in the dark."

Two further competitions have already been lined up - with Oink! and the Iceland store magazine.

OINK! is a national newspaper for 7-12 year olds with a circulation of around 200,000 and readership of circa 600,000. Content is based on 'money matters for kids' but also includes celebrity interviews, sports, movies, music and books. OINK! is distributed free via primary schools and other sources.
