Norfolk offers
unique driver development sessions
In response to safety concerns about a particular stretch of road
in the County, Norfolk County Councils Road Safety Unit
is offering free driver development sessions to local drivers.
 |
Using
this innovative approach, RSOs will identify issues and offer solutions
to drivers who regularly use the A149 between the villages of Smallburgh
and Potter Heigham. The project, which complements work already
undertaken by highways engineers and the Norfolk Safety Camera Partnership,
is believed to be the first of its kind in the country.
The sessions will be open to any road user with a full driving licence
and will be held at the Sutton Staithe Hotel on Wednesday 31 March
and Saturday 3 April.
"We have developed this programme to address the use of the
A149," said Iain Temperton, senior RSO (driver
development). "A lot of time and money has been spent improving
the road environment but a road is only as safe as the people who
use it. If any users of the A149 have concerns about driving or
riding along and across it, we can provide solutions."
