Road safety
team builds on international success
Following a visit from a delegation of officers from the Republic
of Korea Police Force and an officer from the Hong Kong SAR Transport
Department, Hampshire County Council recently hosted Pedro
Vindal Pinheiro, director of the Automobile Club of Portugal
(ACP).
ACP
is responsible for driver improvement across Portugal and Mr Pinheiro
was on a fact-finding mission to establish what measures Hampshire
County Councils Road Safety Team is delivering to help improve
driving standards in the county.
During his visit Mr Pinheiro was given a thorough overview of Hampshires
driver assessment services, which are available to both members
of the public and businesses in the county. He was also put through
driver assessment as a practical demonstration of the advice the
Road Safety Team offers to drivers to help them to continue to drive
safely.
Ernie Sage, road safety services manager said: "The
visit was a great success and has helped to build on Hampshires
reputation as a centre of excellence for road safety and transport
- and also to share the Road Safety Teams knowledge and expertise
with international organisations such as the ACP."
