Schoolgirl poster features in roadside campaign

Artwork created by an 11-year-old schoolgirl is being used to remind drivers in the London borough of Kingston upon Thames of their duty to keep safe.

Kingston Council has 120 roadside boards that are used to promote safety messages, and former junior road safety officer, Antonia Adams, won a competition to design a poster for the boards. The poster highlights the importance of wearing a seatbelt and not using a cell phone while driving.

Road safety and travel awareness manager James Parker explained: "Drivers are aware of both issues, but many need to be reminded.

"Our judges were impressed buy the bold clarity of Antonia's design. Her poster will leave road users in no doubt of their responsibility to heed the call to keep safe."
