The county's road safety team, in partnership with Thames Valley Police, visited two sites in Beaconsfield to carry out enforcement. The main offenders stopped during the hour-long session, carried out near schools, were parents dropping off children and people travelling to work. Drivers were given the opportunity to have the £30 fine waived by attending a two-hour seatbelt awareness workshop, which explores the benefits of using a belt and challenge pre-conceived views. The school locations were picked after earlier observations showed that nearly 40% of drivers and passengers were not wearing their seat belts. For more information contact John Neil on 01494 586620.
