Please close this window to return to the LARSOA news pages Partnership 'inundated' with requests from businesses Company drivers who speed or use mobile phones at the wheel are a liability - that's the message in the Kent & Medway Safety Camera Partnership's new campaign, driving business - safely! The campaign aims to highlight the responsibilities companies have to their staff when they are out and about driving in a work related capacity. The Partnership wants employers not to pressurise their staff into exceeding speed limits to meet delivery deadlines. Kent County Council's road safety team has joined the Partnership to encourage employers not to expect their employees to be available by mobile phone while driving. Educational literature has been sent to Kent and Medway companies and the Partnership claims to have been 'inundated' with over 5,000 requests for driver information packs. Rachel Moon, the Partnership's communications manager, said: "The response to our literature packs has been phenomenal and shows that a lot of businesses in the county take their responsibility on the road seriously. "Promoting safer business driving has obvious human benefits but also financial pluses - with every crash comes escalated company insurance plus time lost due to injury and vehicles off the road. The message is clear - the world will continue spinning even if you miss an appointment or make a late delivery, but it can stop dead if you crash," Rachel Moon concludes.
