Devon offers self-help cycling guide
Devon's road safety and travel awareness team has developed a self-help guide for anyone who wants to learn to cycle - regardless of age or cycling ability. The guide, Fit2Ride, is said to 'fill the gap between leaflets telling people to get on their bikes and organised training courses'.
Fit2Ride is split into two sections: zone 1, for beginners or people who don't feel confident when they are cycling; and zone 2, for cyclists who have achieved a good standard of cycling knowledge and skills off the road and who now wish to travel on quiet roads.
Devon's road safety team believes that there are more people who want to cycle than people who can - and that Fit2 Ride is just what many people need to get riding safely.
For a fee of £250, road safety teams can buy the rights to produce Fit2Ride under their own banner. For further information or to order contact Lesley.c.smith@devon.gov.uk.
