New award for road safety campaigns

In a new initiative, the LARSOA website project team will be recognising the best local or regional road safety publicity campaigns and initiatives covered on this newsfeed during 2006.

"We will be making an award to what we consider to be the best road safety campaign during each quarter of 2006, commencing January-March," explains news editor Nick Rawlings .

All new regional or local campaigns (not DfT/THINK! campaigns) reported on the website will be automatically entered for the award. A quarterly shortlist will be drawn up and the website project team will then choose the winning campaign. Judging criteria will include the strength of the idea, the quality of execution, and innovation in delivering the message.

The winning campaign team will be presented with a certificate and the result will be announced in a news item early in the following quarter.

At the end of the year the best campaign of 2006 will be selected from the four quarterly winners.
