Sandwell launches WTS publication

Sandwell's road safety team has launched a new publication to be used in conjunction with Walk to School Week 2006.

Based on the theme of travel, 'Walk the World' takes the reader around five countries to highlight the important walking to school messages. It covers relevant issues including walking, reducing traffic jams, fighting pollution, using alternative fuel, keeping fit, and healthy eating.

Packed with facts and activities, Walk the World is designed for key stage two pupils and can be used as part of a wider Walk to School Week project. It comes with five stickers (in the shape of national flags) to be awarded for each day walked.

Walk the World is priced at 15p per copy (including the stickers, which are provided separately) plus p&p. The books will be printed before the end of March and orders, or intentions to order, need to be placed by Monday 30 January.

For further information or to order contact John Billington on 0121 569 4270, or john_billington@sandwell.gov.uk.
