Seatbelt sheriffs patrol Wolverhampton

Wolverhampton's road safety team was joined recently by a trio of seatbelt sheriffs to improve awareness of the importance of wearing a seltbelt.

The sheriffs - Spike and two junior road safety officers - have been distributing seatbelt information leaflets to pupils across Wolverhampton. The three-week campaign was run in partnership with West Midlands Police.

Information about seatbelts was also displayed at local libraries, health centres and exhibitions, and in Waitrose and Tesco stores.

Councillor Milkinder Jaspal, Wolverhampton transport boss said: "It is important people remember to buckle up, even if they are only going a short distance or think they are uncomfortable."
