'Limits' game to launch in Kent

A new game show, Know the Limits, will launch in Kent on 19 January in a bid to enhance motorists' knowledge of speeding and speed limits.

The show is a joint initiative between Kent & Medway Safety Camera Partnership, Kent Fire and Rescue Service, Kent County Council and Medway Council.

The show will tour the county at various shopping centres, and those who know their stuff about speed limits, stopping distances and safety cameras will get the chance to win a digital radio and be entered into the free draw to win the ultimate prize - a Canon SLR digital camera.

Drivers can also take part in the quiz via the campaign website, www.knowthelimits.org. There is also a local version of the game on KMFM radio where the public can test their knowledge - in a phone-in - of the speed limits in their own town.

Rachel Wall, communications manager for the Kent & Medway Safety Camera Partnership, said: "In a recent survey 79% of people did not know how to tell when they were in a 30mph zone. We have therefore developed a fun way of trying to educate motorists about which speed limits apply to which road, and in which vehicle.

"We hope that Know the Limits will put a smile on people's faces but also give them some useful information about how to stay safe on our roads."
