HA partners county council in A14 campaign
The Highways Agency (HA) and Cambridgeshire County Council have launched a groundbreaking campaign aimed at motorists using the A14.
Cambridgeshire County Council believes the THINK A14 scheme, which will run from June until December, is the first time the HA has worked on a publicity campaign with a local authority to target a particular route.
Analysis of crashes and information from the police shows that the major factors involved in incidents on the A14 include motorists driving too close and too fast for the conditions, as well as people using their mobile phones on the move and not wearing seatbelts.
To address these issues the campaign will be advising drivers to Slow down, Back off! and Switch off, Belt up!
Campaign messages will appear on bus-backs and in radio advertising, and posters and leaflets will also be distributed across the County.
