Bikers, burgers - and safety

Bikers attending the recent Haslemere motorcycle day were offered a free burger - and a large dollop of road safety.

A presentation by the Surrey Bikesafe team and former TT champion Mick Wynn encouraged motorcyclists to help themselves to become safer. "Leathers and gloves may be very uncomfortable in the summer, but the consequences of not wearing protective clothing are unthinkable," said Mick Wynn, former TT sidecar passenger champion.

Surrey fire fighters, police and road safety officers worked together to ensure that the day was a success. "It's a simple message - if we all share they roads sensibly they will be safer for all users," said Zoe Gamblin road safety officer for Waverley.
