Tour culminates with Preston pledges

Hundreds of visitors opted to be road safety 'saints' at the culmination of Lancashire County Council's Saint or Sinner? tour in Preston recently.

The county's road safety group has attended a series of events during the tour, giving away wristbands in recognition of visitors pledging to be safer road users. The tour was timed to coincide with the seventh birthday of the group's Together We Can Make the Difference road safety strategy.

"The theme 'seven' ran throughout the campaign," said Christine Gibson , senior road safety adviser. "Exhibitions were held at seven locations throughout Lancashire, over seven weeks and focussed on seven road safety sins."

The featured 'sin' at the Preston Marina event was driving while using a mobile phone.
