Please close this window to return to the LARSOA news pages Poem campaign highlights anti-drink drive culture Alison Holland, from Safe Kids Walking, believes that an innovative campaign by teenagers is evidence of a strong anti-drink drive culture among this group. The campaign centres around an emailed poem. The recipient is asked to read the poem, sign the pledge and adhere to it - and then forward it to friends and family. The campaign is setting out to collect as many pledges as possible - once 5,000 have been gathered the information will be forwarded to the Prime Minister, Tony Blair. The poem reads as follows:- I went to a party, I felt proud of myself, I made a healthy choice, I got into my car, Now I'm lying on the pavement, My own blood all around me, I'm sure the guy had no idea, So why do people do it, Mum Tell sister not to be afraid, Mum Someone should have taught him, My breath is getting shorter, Mum I wish that you could hold me, Mum, For further information about the campaign contact Allison Holland, info@safekidswalking.org.uk www.larsoa.org.uk
