Drivers named and shamed at school gates

Highcrest Community School in High Wycombe is hoping to re-educate drivers through a 'name and shame' campaign in the local press.

Photos of drivers and their cars will be published in the Bucks Free Press to try to shame inconsiderate parking offenders into reforming.

The campaign is backed by Thames Valley Police, Buckinghamshire County Council's Highways department and neighbouring schools - and was reported on the Jeremy Vine Show on Radio 2 last week.

The local paper became involved when headteacher Sheena Moynihan asked for help following an incident when an eight-year-old pupil was hit by a car on his way to a nearby primary school.
