Atomic Kitten launches 'Little Learners'

Atomic Kitten star Natasha Hamilton last week joined forces with road safety minister Dr Stephen Ladyman, and oil company TOTAL to launch Little Learners - a new campaign to cut the number of road accidents involving children aged six and under.
The campaign launch was covered on GMTV, and LARSOA chair Simon Ettinghausen appeared on the programme alongside Natasha Hamilton. Click here to see the broadcast.
The campaign features superhero Brum, from children's TV programme producers Ragdoll. In the first phase, reception teachers are being offered free creative classroom packs featuring Brum to help them teach road safety in the classroom, the playground and on the internet.
The teaching pack supports the DfT's THINK! campaign and has been produced specifically for children six and under, in line with the National Curriculum. The kits have been tested at a number of schools and have been met with positive responses from teachers and pupils alike.
TOTAL is organising other initiatives under the programme including forecourt checks for child car seats.
Dr Stephen Ladyman said: "The Government's THINK! campaign, with its hedgehog characters, aims to remind children of the dangers of the road and what they can do to stay safe. This campaign will make a helpful contribution to that work."
TOTAL has created pages on its website, www.total.co.uk/littlelearners, where parents can download activities. Teachers wishing to request a copy of the creative classroom pack should visit the teachers' section on the site.
