Mayor praises schools' efforts
School children and teachers rubbed shoulders with the Mayor of Kensington and Chelsea at a recent school travel and road safety awards ceremony.
The mayor, councillor Tim Ahern, invited every school in the borough, along with their school travel plan coordinators, to a lunch and reception - and praised the work of schools in promoting road safety and green travel.
The mayor also presented a number of schools with awards for their work to encourage youngsters to think about the way they get to school - to walk where possible, or use public transport.
