PACTS to host Beacon conference

PACTS is to host a conference on 17 October at which all six road safety Beacon councils will present in depth and in context (RoadSafe News, July).

In addition, PACTS will be looking at the wider context of local authority road safety with contributions from Marianne Hood, Chair Beacon Council Panel, Phyllis Starkey MP, Chair House of Commons ODPM Select Committee, and Bill Smith, Scottish Accident Prevention Council.

The conference will highlight practical examples of excellence in road safety and consider the support necessary from government for local authorities to continue their success in cutting casualties.
