Please close this window to return to the LARSOA news pages THINK! firms up child seats publicity plans The THINK! team has outlined details of its plans to publicise new regulations governing the use of child car seats, which are due to come into force on 18 September - subject to Parliamentary agreement. A THINK! advertising campaign will break on 24 July and run until the third week in September. The campaign will run on national radio, in national Sunday newspapers, parenting and women's interest magazines and online. A new leaflet and poster are already available to pre-order in the members' catalogue on the THINK! website. In addition, THINK! is working with three major child car seat retailers who will run advertising on their websites and flag up the changes in their literature and at point of sale. A list of participating stores is available on the THINK! website. GMTV will repeat its Check it Fits campaign 17-19 July, and will cover the new regulations. Prior to this, GMTV will run a child car seat survey on its website and the results will be announced on air on 17 July. Dr Stephen Ladyman, road safety minister, will appear on GMTV on 19 July. In conjunction with Britax, GMTV will also carry out child car seat fitting checks in 15 retail car parks throughout the week. Locations will be advertised locally, on the programme, and on the THINK! and LARSOA websites. For full details of the media schedule for the advertising campaign, and locations for car seat fitting checks, go to the members section of this website, then click on DfT communications. The members' section is password protected - LARSOA members can obtain the password from their regional representative, or LARSOA secretary Brian Hogarth.
