Camera partnership
launches bus-back campaign
Cumbria Safety Cameras has launched its first bus-back advertising
campaign to remind drivers about the hazards and dangers when driving
on Cumbria's roads.
"There
are a lot of slow moving vehicles on the country's roads, ranging
from agricultural vehicles and HGVs through to caravans and buses,"
explained the Partnerships communications manager, Kevin
Tea. "When motorists are caught behind these vehicles
there can be an urge to try and overtake and pass at unsuitable
places, putting themselves and other road users at risk."
The message on a bus-back is short and to the point so as not to
distract drivers. In addition, Cumbria Safety Cameras has drawn
floral tributes on the roadside to reinforce the Don't Let Your
Driving Say It With Flowers message.
"The campaign will run through July and August, the main holiday
period, to warn tourists who may not be familiar with the narrow,
winding and undulating roads within Cumbria and to remind
locals about hazards," Kevin Tea added.
