Slow down, see more, campaign urges

A new advertising campaign was launched last week by the Essex Safety Camera Partnership to encourage the county's motorists to slow down.

The campaign message, Slow Down, See More, was also the theme of a television commercial funded by several safety camera partnerships that ran across the eastern region earlier this year.

The message to motorists is that if they slow down they are more likely to spot hazards - and therefore reduce the chance of being involved in a crash.

"This campaign encourages motorists to think about the speed at which they are travelling, and to drive within speed limits and appropriately for the conditions," said Kelly Fairweather, the Partnership's communications manager.

The campaign is running on bus sides and rears, and on four radio stations until late July.
