Elderly pedestrian resource goes national

LARSOA north east region is offering its successful SEE ME product for elderly pedestrians to road safety teams in other areas.

During 2004, some 20,000 high visibility SEE ME shopping bags were distributed across the north east.

“The product was so popular we couldn't produce them quickly enough,” says Alan Kennedy, Durham’s road safety manager. “However, the manufacturer has geared up in preparation for this year's campaign and can now supply nationwide.

“The campaign received extensive press coverage and I have never seen elderly folk so keen to use a road safety resource. I suggest RSOs place orders now in preparation for the dark evenings during the autumn and winter,” Alan Kennedy added.
